Back when I bought my Quest 3, I missed my Valve Index audio and solved that. Well, the other thing I missed was the controller grips. Being able to fully open my hands without dropping the controllers is as freeing as going with the cordless headset.
Kiwi, the makers of the pulley system I used for my Index, also created Quest 3 controller grips like Valve Index controllers have. I wanted to share this with my other ex-index owners.
Upgrading the Grips for Quest 3 Controllers

I knew there were silicon grips for Quest 3 controllers, but I wasn’t sure if I could ever replace the Valve Index style grips. The accessory selection for Quest 3 is pretty extensive at this point. Lucky for me, I found these grips from Kiwi. I trusted Kiwi since I previously bought my Valve Index pulley system and Index face fan from them.
Their silicone Quest 3 grips slip over the controllers like a glove. Super easy “install” and the cutouts for buttons keeps them secure. There are Velcro hand straps to tighten my hand to the controllers. It’s not as comfortable as my old Index controllers, but was much better than the default Quest 3 controller setup.
I was so happy to once again fully open my hands with no worry of dropping the controllers. It would also keep me safer from the possibility of throwing my controllers during physical VR games. Their was a minor concern the silicon grips might cover the sensors, but I noticed no issues with tracking.
If you’ve come this far, do yourself a favor and save your Quest 3 controllers with silicone grips. Open your hands with no more worry of dropping or throwing the controllers. Now that I’ve invested all this extra money in Quest, maybe Valve will actually do something finally.
