Laptop Pillow for Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch

I spend plenty of time on my laptop (even as I write this) and am increasing my time on Steam Deck. Both are so much more comfortable now that I have a Laptop Pillow. I’ve had a laptop desk meant for the bed, but it’s not suited for my current usage. My new setup is much better.

My Old Laptop Desk was Not Comfortable Enough

I previously had a hardtop laptop desk with legs on the side. The height was a bit too high and not very comfortable. It also was not very stable, so I’d often collapse the legs and put it flat across my legs. The hard bottom would dig into my legs, so I’d often put a pillow underneath it.

That was much more comfortable except when I needed to move. It’s a bit hard juggling a pillow, the desk and laptop all at once. When the power cord and headphones were plugged in, it made it even harder.

When it came to playing my Steam Deck, there were other problems. If I played it on my lap, I’d have to look down and crink my neck after awhile. Laying a bit to the side would end up putting one of my arms to sleep. Putting a pillow to prop it up helped, but was still a bit awkward.

I decided to look for a solution to both problems. I found a Laptop Pillow with pockets and arm supports to help with my Steam Deck sessions.

Testing Out the New Pillow with my Laptop and Steam Deck

Using my Laptop pillow at night with my cat behind it

I was surprised by the small box the pillow came in. It’s still amazing how the vacuum packed cushions like this grow when taking them out of the package. First up, I tried my laptop. The Laptop Pillow has a built in elastic band that will secure the laptop to the pillow.

There’s a recess at the end of pillow that leaves space for the cooling vents on laptops. The elastic pockets on each side make it easy for me to store headphones and mobile mouse. When it was time to try the Steam Deck, it was a bit weird sliding the laptop out of the elastic strap. Definitely easier in than out.

Steam Deck and Portable Gaming pillow with Steam Deck on top

This pillow is definitely portable gaming friendly. Once I started playing the Steam Deck, my elbows slide right into the cushioned elbow supports of the pillow. Nintendo Switch would work just as well.

It’s so much more comfortable resting my arms on this Laptop Pillow. The viewing height is definitely easier on my neck too. Even when laid on my side a bit, the pillow moved perfectly with me.

Laptop users and portable gamers, learn from my mistake and experience. Treat yourself to a Laptop Pillow.
